This simple San Diego suburban house from the 1950’s was converted to a contemporary family home with plenty of outdoor space for entertaining. The goal for this small 900 s.f. home was to add 850 square feet of new space to create larger living spaces and outdoor deck space. The new 500 square feet deck overlooks a large yard and it is perfect for the fabulous San Diego weather.

Design elements can be found everywhere in the house. The exterior entrance was entirely redesigned with its floating concrete stairs, metal and wood shades over the front windows and unique windows. Inside built-in cabinetry can be found throughout the house, each specifically designed for each space, including the kitchen, office, laundry, closets, etc. The size of the new bedrooms’ walk -in closets are unseen in the neighborhood.
